Founded in 1887 by Karl Höfner, a master violin maker from Schönbach in Bohemia, the company Karl Höfner GmbH & Co. KG is today located in Hagenau, Bavaria, Germany.
Our product range includes guitars & basses and stringed instruments & bows, which are made in our own Höfner workshops on site. In more than 135 years of history, we have invented the world-famous Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass as well as other iconic instruments such as the Verythin Guitar, the 500/2 Club Bass or the Shorty Series.

For more than 27 years, we have been paying special attention to our Höfner Green Line (HGL) series and have the ambition to make our musical instrument manufacturing even more sustainable, step by step.
