About us
Brandenburg Labs was founded in 2019 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karlheinz Brandenburg, co-inventor of the mp3 format. As a spin-off of the Technische Universität Ilmenau and the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (IDMT), Brandenburg Labs draws on many years of audio research.
With their Deep Dive Audio technology, it is now possible to recreate real or virtual acoustic environments via headphones. With Okeanos Pro, Brandenburg Labs launched an advanced headphone system that simplifies multichannel mixing by eliminating the need for traditional physical speaker setups. In the future, these headphones will also be available for the mass market. Brandenburg Labs’ long-term goal is to market intelligent headphones for enhanced hearing.

Okeanos Pro
With Okeanos Pro, Brandenburg Labs is marketing systems to customers in the field of music production and to scientific institutions. Deep Dive Audio provides audio engineers with the ability to experience their content as if they were surrounded by physical loudspeakers. Supporting all currently available multi-channel formats and switchable within seconds, the system integrates seamlessly with studio hardware via standard Audio over IP (AoIP) connectivity solutions, such as Dante and Ravenna.

Brandenburg Labs aims to place solutions and products on the market that bridge the gap between the digital and real-world through audio. In the future, headphones for an immersive listening experience will also be available for the premium consumer market (second generation). Their long-term goal is to market intelligent and full adaptive headphones, that allow users to control their auditory environment (third generation).
